Here's a list of all of the error messages you most likely to see on the printer screen with some information on how to clear them.  Errors can happen during CG-1 start-up or during a build.  The more familiar you become with your CG-1 the easier it will become to resolve these issues.  Remember that all of these errors if they occur during a build will stop the printer and return it to the idle state.   As long as the build remains intact and you do not move it there is a an opportunity to clear the error cause and continue your build.

If you do need to contact our support desk.  Please send an email to [email protected] with your printer serial number (label on rear panel) and try to describe what the printer was doing when the error occurred.   This will save time as we'll probably ask these questions before we can respond.

Error MessageOccurancePossible causes / action to take
'ERR_DOOR': 'Door fault',COMMONThere are 2 microswitches on the paper feed and paper waste side activated by pins on the Top Door.  Check alignment is good and the switches are closing correctly.   FOR SAFETY NEVER OPERATE A PRINTER WITH THESE SWITCHES MANUALLY DEFEATED.
'ERR_X_LIM': 'X limit fault',COMMONThe X Limit switch/ opto is at the rear of the printer left hand side to detect the gantry X home position.  Make sure the gantry is not obstructed and can move freely to the switch. Check the Opto is clean and the flag is present and able to move to the sensor
'ERR_XN_BLOCK': 'X did not clear negative limit',COMMONThis error tells us that the X limit Opto is not clearing when the gantry flag is moved away from it.  It could be dust on the optical sensor or a piece of a previous build sitting in the opto detection area. It could also be a broken sensor.
'ERR_XN_HOME': 'X did not find negative limit',COMMONThis error tells us that the X limit Opto is not detecting the flag on the gantry when its moved to block it.  This is usually either because the gantry can't move due to an obstruction (piece of a build) If there is no obstruction it likely the opto might need replacement please contact [email protected]
'ERR_Y_LIM': 'Y limit fault',COMMONThere is a limit switch/ opto at the rear of the gantry to detect the Y home position.  Make sure the gantry can move freely to the switch. Check the Opto is clean and the flag is present and able to move to it.
'ERR_YN_BLOCK': 'Y did not clear limit',COMMONThis error tells us that the Y limit Opto is not clearing when the gantry flag is moved away from it.  It could be dust on the opto or a piece of a previous build sitting in the opto detection area. It could alos be a sensor malfunction.
'ERR_YN_HOME': 'Y did not find limit',COMMONThis error tells us that the Y limit Opto is not detecting the flag on the gantry when its moved to block it.  This is usually either because the gantry can't move or the opto needs replacement.
'ERR_PF_TEAR': 'Paper tear',COMMONPaper tears can happen during builds for a variety of reasons.  The printer will prompt you to recover from this error without losing your build as long as you do not remove the build from the build plate.
'ERR_XP_HOME': 'X did not find positive limit',COMMONThis error occurs when the Gantry is tasked to push the Heat Plate home or collect it for the press operation. If for some reason the gantry cannot move to the correct location this error results.  Look for items obstructing clean movement.
